People & Working Groups for Eclipse 2024

At this time, we have the following proposed working groups:

Emergency Group

  • Safety planning for residents and travelers
  • Planning for Weather
  • Planning for traffic pattern changes due to cloud cover. Example: Buffalo and Niagara Falls has a storm on the day of the eclipse so people head South.
  • Safety Checklist (apparel for the weather, emergency items, vehicle)
  • Short Safety Videos
  • Notify schools that the eclipse will be occurring during normal dismissal times.

Marketing Group

  • Communications with accommodations, restaurants, and campgrounds to prepare for eclipse
  • List of Places to Watch the Eclipse
  • Advertising & Marketing of our area about the eclipse
  • Maintain eclipse content
  • Sharing content on social media
  • Short eclipse video

Education Group

  • Educational content about the eclipse
  • Fun Fact List
  • Short Fun Fact Videos
