Important Grant Guidelines for the Microenterprise Assistance Program

Business must have 5 or fewer employees
The owner of the business must be considered as low-moderate income (LMI), as defined by the U.S. Housing and Urban Development agency OR
The business must be willing to hire a minimum of one full-time employee (FTE) at 37.5 hours per week who is of LMI status, or enough part-time employees to equal one full-time equivalent position of 40 hours
Grant monies are for such business-related needs as machinery, equipment, furnishings, fixtures, and inventory
Cannot be used for construction or remodeling
A 10% equity contribution from the business is required
Businesses must expend their own money first, provide all receipts, and will then be reimbursed
